Help on finding and changing OFor information on finding and changing items, click an item in the topic list H ,to the right or click an active area below. QThe Find/ Change window contains controls to find and change text and 9 other items. TThe Character Format dialog box specifies what character format to find. OThe Change to Character Format dialog box specifies what character !format is applied to found text. YThe Conditional Text dialog box specifies the condition tag settings to = find. YSee Syntax Descriptions for information on the wildcard and special /characters that you can use to find items. Edit menu > Find/Change Window where you search for text and other items in a document and ( Fchange them. FrameMaker searches only the page type currently Idisplayed. For example, if a body page is displayed, only body pages are a Isearched. If a master page is displayed, only master pages are searched. ZYou can use wildcards for any search that requires text in the Find text box. %Specifies the item you want to find. Searches for the text in the text box. Character Format Opens the Character 1Format dialog box where you can specify what I character format to find. Paragraph Tag Searches for a paragraph with the b tag shown in the text box. Character Tag Searches for text with the character ite tag shown in the text box. Any Marker Searches for a marker of any type. 6Marker of Type Searches for the marker type shown in the text box. 5Marker Text Searches for a marker containing the r word or phrase in the text box. Any Cross-Reference Searches for a cross- reference with any format. 3Cross-Reference of Format Searches for a cross- Ma 1reference with the format shown in the text box. .Unresolved Cross-Reference Searches for a 4cross-reference whose source of information was not 7found. If FrameMaker finds an unresolved cross- 4reference, it displays the marker text of the cross- reference in the text box. Any Publisher/Subscriber Searches for text 6publishers and subscribers. Conditional Text Opens the Conditional Text 4dialog box where you can specify what condition tag settings to find. Automatic Hyphen Searches for any hyphen inserted by FrameMaker 3Text & Character Formats on Clipboard Searches 5for text that matches text on the Clipboard, even in J %capitalization and character format. Morefo Consider Case 5Searches for an item with the same capitalization as 9the text in the Find text box. Ignores capitalization if h this checkbox is turned off. Whole Word 3Searches for complete words. For example, use this :setting to search for the word h but not words &containing hat, such as what or that. Use Wildcards 5Allows the use of wildcards in a search. Find Backward /Searches backward, toward the beginning of the V 8document. When FrameMaker reaches the beginning 3of the document, it wraps around to the end of the P +document and continues searching backward. FrameMaker does not search through hidden conditional text. To search Rthrough all text in a conditional document, use the Show/Hide Conditional KText dialog box to make all text visible before you start the search. Unconditional <Specifies that FrameMaker should find unconditional text. Conditional <Specifies that FrameMaker should find text with the (condition tag settings you specify.
